GS Engineering & Construction has released a new vision for the company for the first time in 10 years. On the 12th, GS Engineering & Construction CEO Huh Yoon-hong unveiled a new vision on the company’s bulletin board, “Completing a safer and happier future of life with transparent trust and constant innovation.” The new vision contains the will to become a healthy company that builds a better world beyond simple construction and construction.
Along with the new vision, CEO Huh also unveiled six core values that executives and employees should aim for to form an organizational cultural identity, including customer orientation, trust, autonomy and responsibility, degree management, future orientation, and professionalism. GS Engineering & Construction put customers first and set its goal to establish a virtuous cycle system for business success by providing excellent experiences to customers and forming trust with various stakeholders. In order to achieve the goal, the plan is to achieve this through core values such as “autonomy and responsibility,” “degree management,” “future orientation,” and “professionalism.”
The company explained that this vision and core value establishment are also meaningful in that they were derived through the process of collecting and sympathizing with the opinions of executives and employees. CEO Heo Yoon-hong, who became CEO in October last year, went through a process of diagnosing the overall portfolio and organizational capabilities of the business from outside organizations since early this year. A total of more than 300 people in charge of each business department were conducted through face-to-face interviews with executives. Ideas for base value were derived through employee workshops in each business unit.
GS E&C has also decided to make changes to the way it works so that its new vision and core values can be settled in the company. Through a horizontal organizational culture, the unification of titles is promoted so that all employees can freely express their opinions and work autonomously. It also plans to establish a digital-based work infrastructure to improve work efficiency. These changes are expected to promote creativity and collaboration, and increase organizational flexibility.
CEO Heo Yoon-hong said, “Through the new vision, we will clarify the ultimate reason for the company’s existence and be reborn as a company that is more trusted and loved by all stakeholders.”
